Second Hearth
Alterations + additions
Additions · Built
A garden cottage study explores an additional home within an established property, with its own arrival and a close relationship to outdoor space.
A simple gabled form gives the proposed dwelling a familiar domestic scale. The verandah creates a sheltered edge between the interior and garden.
Shared living and private rooms are brought together within a compact, legible plan. Brick paving and planting help define outdoor areas beside the pool and along the access route.
